Scenic views of rolling plateaus are a highlight of this landscape. Large clearings used for agriculture are found around villages on top of the mountains.
A hare needs open spaces, such as fields and meadows. Once a common species, their populations are decreasing due to intensified agriculture.
The scenic "Alleenstraße" avenue crosses this area, where avenues are a common feature. Even Napoleon was amazed when he saw these old trees near Ebersdorf.
Caves created by mining offer winter quarters for several bat species, because of constant temperatures all year long.
